Private Pickleball Lessons for Friends of Different Levels in Singapore

Want to learn pickleball with friends, but not everyone is starting at the same level? A shared private lesson may work well, provided the coach understands the differences before the session. The useful question is not simply whether everyone has played before. It is whether the group can work on compatible goals at a comfortable pace.

WEsports offers private pickleball coaching in Singapore for one to four players. This guide helps friends decide what to share when enquiring, when learning together makes sense and when a different arrangement is worth discussing.

Describe what each player can do

“Beginner” can mean different things. One person may never have held a paddle, while another can serve and rally but is unsure about positioning. Someone with tennis experience may make contact comfortably yet still need help with pickleball-specific decisions.

Give the coach a short description of each person’s recent play rather than choosing a label for the whole group. Useful details include:

  • Whether they have played pickleball before, and how recently.
  • Whether they can start and sustain a controlled rally.
  • What feels difficult: contact, serving, rules, movement or working with a partner.
  • Whether they want an introduction, more consistent social games or focused feedback.

There is no need to send a long assessment or guess a formal rating. A few honest sentences are more useful than describing everyone as intermediate because one friend plays regularly.

Choose a shared goal before comparing packages

A group is easier to plan when everyone wants something compatible. For example, friends who want to understand the game and enjoy more controlled rallies have a clear starting point, even if they have different racket-sport backgrounds.

The fit is less obvious if one player needs an introduction while another wants detailed feedback on advanced match situations. Ask the coach whether the session can be adapted or whether separate coaching would be more useful. Do not assume that booking more players guarantees the same amount of individual attention.

Ask how a mixed-level lesson could be organised

Before booking, discuss whether the coach would use shared activities, individual feedback or different tasks within the same session. These are planning possibilities, not a fixed WEsports lesson structure. The arrangement depends on the people, their goals and the coach’s assessment.

For a pair, explain whether both players want to practise together or whether one mainly wants support getting started. For three or four friends, ask how participation and feedback would be managed. A group of four is a private coaching group, not a promise of continuous doubles match play.

Understand the hourly price for your group

Private pickleball rates are per hour for the whole class at the stated number of players—not a separate charge to every person. For two players, the rates are:

  • 1-lesson package: S$110 per hour for both players together.
  • 4-lesson package: S$105 per hour for both players together.
  • 8-lesson package: S$100 per hour for both players together.

Compare other player counts in our private pickleball price guide. Confirm lesson duration before calculating a package total. If WEsports needs to book another court, court fees are additional and are confirmed separately before booking.

Coordinate the court and everyone’s availability

WEsports uses public facilities, condominiums and other privately owned courts; it does not have an office. Tell the team whether your group already has access to a suitable court. Check that the venue permits the proposed coaching arrangement, and wait for coach confirmation before making a non-refundable court booking.

Offer a few days and times that work for everyone. A preferred venue or time is an enquiry, not a confirmed booking. Also ask about equipment arrangements, package validity and cancellation terms before committing; do not assume the same terms apply at every venue.

Send a useful mixed-level enquiry

A concise message could be: “There are three of us. Two have never played pickleball; one plays occasional social games. We’d like to learn together and build more consistent rallies. We prefer the east on weekday evenings. Could you check whether a shared private lesson would suit us?”

For help choosing the arrangement, send WEsports an enquiry with the player count, each person’s experience, your preferred area and possible times. You can also read our guide to learning pickleball in Singapore for broader lesson and venue considerations.
